Our Bells

The bells were cast in Pittsburgh and both weighed over 3000 pounds. The bells were cast in 1823 (l) and 1825 (r).The smaller bell (l) struck on the quarter hour and both bells struck on the hour.

Clock and tower

Square brick tower with a stone base rises 100 feet from ground to weathercock. The single clock hand is controlled by the rods inside the tower, controlled by a timing mechanism driven by three stone weights. The clock mechanism (middle picture) must be wound every day at the same time.

The Decker Grand piano

The piano was built in 1879 and was originally used in the Music Hall of Old Economy. It was purchased in 1919 for use in our sanctuary for $100.
